- A rare painting of Guru Nanak Dev in which he is wearing a Sindhi cap is now at display in Sobha Singh Art Gallery at Andretta village in Kangra district. The painting was done by the legendary artist Sobha Singh to depict the visit of Guru Nanak Dev to Sindh province, now located in Pakistan.
- The National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur, was ranked 51st engineering college in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), a survey of the country’s educational institutions approved by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. Among all 17 NITs, it is ranked 13th.
- Acharya Devvrat, Governor of the state, inaugurated the statue of Swami Vivekananda on the premises of the Vivekananda Medical Research Trust (VMRT) in Palampur. The statue has been built by Ram Sutar, a famous artist.
- A three-day legendary Suhi Mata fair began in Chamba on the premises of the palanquin-shaped Suhi temple situated on a hillock above Chamba town. The palanquin of Rani Suhi was brought to its age-old temple with fanfare after performing the traditional worship at the princely palace.
- The scientists of the Chennai-based Centre for Wind Energy Technology (CWET) having assessed the potential for harnessing wind energy in the state’s industrial hub of Baddi during a recent visit, officials of the Baddi Barotiwala Nalagarh Development Authority (BBNDA) are hopeful of receiving financial support for installing windmills.
- The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has directed the Centre to provide financial assistance of Rs 17.5 crore for setting up two gas stations in Himachal Pradesh and asked the state to commence CNG bus services in the eco-sensitive Rohtang Pass area “without fail” in the coming tourist season.
