INDIAN POLITY (PART-2)

  • Fundamental rights are contained in Part III of the Constitution.
  • Six fundamental rights are available for the Indian citizens.
  • Articles 12 to 35 contain Fundamental Rights.
  • Laws inconsistent with Fundamental rights are void as per Article 13.
  • Articles 14 - 18 contain the Right to Equality.
  • Articles 19 - 22 contain the Right to Freedom.
  • Articles 23 - 24 contain the Right against Exploitation.
  • Articles 25 - 28 contain the Right to Religious freedom.
  • Articles 29 - 30 contain the Cultural and Educational Rights.
  • Article 32 contains the Right to Constitutional Remedies.
  • The Constitution (Forty-Fourth Amendment) Act, 1978 deleted the right to property from the list of fundamental rights.
  • Part IV of the Constitution contains Directive Principle of State Policy.
  • Articles 36 to 51 contain Directive Principles of State Policy. The Directive principles of state policy are not enforceable by any court.
  • Fundamental duties are contained in Part IV A of the Constitution.
  • Article 51A of the Constitution contains Fundamental Duties.
  • The Constitution Forty-Second Amendment Act, 1976 added Fundamental Duties to the Constitution.
